Travel Requirements for Tourists Visiting Puerto Galera

After two years of strict travel restrictions during the Covid Pandemic, the Philippines is once again warmly welcoming foreign tourists from all countries! There are however some travel protocols in place, which need to be followed to ensure your entry into the Philippines is as stress-free as possible. The current protocols at the time of publications are listed below, but please be aware these may be subject to change at any time, so it is advisable to double-check the requirements before traveling, either by visiting the goverment websites listed below, or contacting us for the most up-to-date information.

Who Can Visit The Philippines?

All foreign nationals including their children, can visit the Philippines. Fully-vaccinated individuals are exempted from presenting a pre-departure test.

You are considered fully-vaccinated when you have received the 2nd dose in a two-dose series or a single dose vaccine more than 14 days prior to the date of departure from the country of origin.

The vaccine used must be one that is authorized by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the World Health Organization (WHO). Children below 15 years old, regardless of vaccination status, can also travel to the country. They will follow the protocol for the accompanying fully-vaccinated foreign parent.

Pre-departure Requirements

    1. For fully-vaccinated individuals, present any off the following proofs of vaccination:
      1. WHO International Certificates of Vaccination and Prophylaxis
      2. VaxCertPH for balikbayans who had their COVID-19 vaccination in the Philippines
      3. National/State manual/digital vaccination certificates of a foreign government
      4. Other proof of vaccination
        *except for children below 15 years old, who will follow the protocol for the accompanying parent or guardian
    2. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated foreign nationals fifteen years old and above shall present a remotely supervised or a laboratory-based rapid antigen negative test result, failure to present the said pre-departure test shall be required to undergo a laboratory-based rapid antigen test taken upon arrival.
    3. Your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months at the time of arrival in the Philippines.
    4. Fill out the eArrival card at least two (2) days prior to get a QR Code.

    Upon Arrival at The Airport in the Philippines

    1. Scan your eArrival card QR Code and present you vaccination card to the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) personnel for validation.
    2. Have your Passport and travel documents validated by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
    3. Claim your baggage.
    4. Exit at the Arrivals gate for airport taxi service or previously arranged pickup service with your hotel or travel agency.

    NO QUARANTINE NEEDED but self-monitor for any COVID-19 sign or symptoms** for seven (7) days.

    **If you exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, immediately report to your hotel or accommodation for proper coordination with the local government unit of your destination.
